Cybernetic Approaches to Artificial Life
Zusammenfassung: |
This paper describes three artificial life research projects that illustrate communication and control in the animal and the machine, thus reflecting Wiener's definition of cybernetics. Mobile robots are described which have been used to test algorithms for learning simple tasks, where for instance the benefits of communication between these robots are demonstrated. A new approach to intelligent search is described, which emphasise communication between agents. Finally, artificial life is used in human-robot interaction. These projects stress the importance of interaction between machines, whether they be virtual, robotic or biological. |
