We welcome book reviews. Included in this category are not only printed and bound books, but also electronic documents of the same calibre and character, such as e-books, documented software libraries, or comprehensive e-learning material. Topics of interest include core AI and adjacent fields, as with all papers published in the KI journal. In case of doubt, consult the managing editor.
You may request a copy of the physical book for the review from the editors. The author of the review may keep the review copy after delivering the text in due time. For a list of titles up for review, please see www.inf.uos.de/hertzberg/bookreviews.html. Review authors may also suggest other titles; please contact the managing editor who can then contact the publisher for a copy for review.
A book review in the KI journal cannot exceed 2 printed pages in length, using the Springer KI style. It may be written in either English or German. The general author instructions for the KI journal according to Springer Verlag apply in terms of manuscript format and submission procedure.
Please note that the KI journal aims to publish book reviews rather than mere book reports. In addition to outlining the structure and contents of the book, we encourage review authors to include background information and positive or negative criticism. Please evaluate the book with respect to its target audience (students? researchers? companies?) If you are familiar with books on the same subject, discuss the pros and cons of the one under review. Also, please include whether you would recommend the book.
